Question Everything......
I am a court reporter too!! But back in school working towards my law degree.
I can't believe I'm asking for advice on dating, but really need an opinion, guys especially.
I don't have trouble getting dates but I have limited time. I'm in school working towards my law degree.
Anyway, I had a date Sat night that absolutely knocked me for six....not only is he very handsome, but he's
NICE and humble. We had a good time. We talked til about 11:30 and went for coffee. Before we left, he leaned
over and kissed my cheek. Then we walked for coffee and he put his arm around me. Dropped me off at my house
and a little goodnight kiss in the car. A text saying he had a good time that night.....now I am freaking out. Haven't
heard much but a text here and there...is it too soon to freak out? What's the protocol here?
Thanks.
just got this in, don't know if it was mentioned here yet, but this illustrates how the watchtower views/responds to emergencies.
note the dig on university and "higher education" (especially sad for a poor country like haiti with poorly educated masses).. randy.
it was a terrifying moment for all!
what is the facebook page? I would like to weigh in.
i have seen these words/phrases used frequently by the wtbs and rarely elsewhere.
** warning, this may become a barf inducing list.
your mileage may vary.. faithful and discreet slavefield servicemodern day antediluvians (pulled that one out of my hat)what words or phrases strike you as uniquely "watchtower"?.
Happified. (barf)
ministerial servant/school.
Bad association. (I was one.)
Just around the corner.................
hey folks,.
i'm wondering if you all could help me with my next video that i want to put up in the next couple of days (though i'm hoping for tonight), i want to come up with a list of the most prominent urban legends surrounding jws and then refute them whatever they may be.. i'm thinking there's the urban legend about the question on jeopardy that said the nwt was the most accurate would be a good one.
that one stems from an online powerpoint presentation named theological jeopardy and a book which was written comparing six different translations of the bible.
How about the rumor about records and if you played them backwards you got demonic messages?? I remember doing that as a kid and never heard a thing.
Also I remember a bunch of talk once that there was blood in Tootsie Rolls!
Another one was to avoid buying things at garage sales or else your house would become possessed.
a semi-serious request.. i hate exercise (yes i am an indolent slob), i sit in an office or a car most of the time and eat and drink too much.
so my new year's resolution is to lose weight (about 3 stone would be good) to try and prolong my life a little since i ain't got eternity in mind anymore.
i am looking for fun ways to get fit, or an effective home based diet programme that has worked for other people.
Sounds like the New Year's resolutions are back!
Aussie nailed it though..calories in and calories out. I lost loads of weight around 15 years ago. It was a lifestyle change for sure. I had to get to the absolute point where I'd had enough, and unless you're there, it won't work. Most people realise it after they have a health scare, so it's better to get it now. I was a Weight Watcher's leader and I teach aerobics part time now.
Tip. Don't skip breakfast. Write everything down that you eat so you can keep track. If you'd like me to analyze it, just email me privately and I'll be happy to do it for you. Also, alcohol. Limit yourself to about 4 units a week.
Good luck!
remember these silly tests they make you take?
i don't remember how often they were, but thinking back on them, boy does it seem silly!
sitting there for half an hour trying to remember stupid stuff as if you are in school.
Does anyone have a sample of a review to download? It would be fun to pick at it...
if this has been posted, then i missed it... .
.
They're absolutely mad. They make it seem like ANYTIME you're in the presence of someone of the opposite
sex you're clothes are going to fly off and you're going to have sex. Their views remind me of the old Victorian
principles! What a bunch of BS!!! ARGH!
ok i'm not sure where to put this thread, but seeing as this section is the one that is most frequented by members, i hope to get some feedback asap.. i am a person that has issues with depression and fairly recently i have started paying a bit of attention to my 'mood swings' and have noticed a sort of high in addition to my lows.
this has made me a little worried that i might have some mild form of bpd.... but then i do tend to worry over nothing!.
i do not have therapy because i currently cannot afford it.
I have suffered from depression for several years, up and down, and know what you are going through. It is best
that he know now what is going on. It's hard to see someone for what they really are when you live close, but
far away, is even more difficult. I am an American that married a British man and lived in the UK for nine years. I moved
there knowing little about him....fortunately, he's a good man but my depression did get in the way. You're in Scotland,
I see. I am sure that you can get counseling and all that on the NHS. Your GP may be able to make a referral.
As to this bloke, I think that if he is running from something like this, you'll have a load of hassle down the road when
you have serious issues to sort out. He's obviously not mature enough or ready for a commitment. My advice would be
to just sit it out. He's got your email and explanation. Let it go at that and let it take its own course.
As for suicide, if your thoughts get any stronger, please talk to someone. You can even email me privately if
you want to.
Good Luck.
okay, i am in a bit of a dilemma.
since i believe in honesty between marriage mates, i have been telling my wife about this board and my participation on it.
i feel it is only right so that she won't feel like i have anything to hide.
You said it very precisely...just tell her that you respect her decision to stay in the organization but she should
respect yours to follow this website. Fair is fair. JW's always pat themselves on the back for their "tolerance."
It's about time they live up to that. I was raised as a JW so I can speak to this quite well. Good luck!
